HTML5 website for sculptor Arman Hostikyan
Arman Hostikyan is an iron artist living in Sochi, Russia. He makes beauty out of burning iron. We tried to make something nearly as beautiful as his artworks.
We tried to make the site easy to navigate - using mouse & keyboard, looking rich with HTML5 effects and slightly demonic. Arman insisted on black backgrounds and huge hi-res artwork photos.
Modules used on these project are not many: it's mostly Views, Display Suite, i18n and Video Embed Field. The site has Russian and English versions, and opens /ru or /en depending on your browser language.
The libraries we used are: carouFredSel, fancyBox, jQuery Custom Content Scroller, parallax, Zoomy, jQuery Countdown, jPlayer and PreloadJS.
The site uses different HTML5 animation effects on the main page (6 slides) - starting with parallax at Winter Queen Mask (1st slide).
Portfolio uses sliding principle too, plus fancyBox to display sleeky image previews. You can navigate through the works with vertical scrolling and move to next folder with horizontal scrolling.
There's timer at Process page showing approximate completion times - powered by jQuery Countdown. 2 slides - Cogito Ergo Sum & 7 Wonders - use ordinary and unusual Zoomy zooming, you'll see it by yourself. Preloader uses 4 artwork previews representing 4 elements of nature.
